Automated Store Ordering (ASO) is an integral part of ECR’s concept of Responsive
Replenishment. The implementation of ASO has enabled grocery retailers worldwide to
attain remarkable improvements in both cost-efficiency and customer service. However,
despite the attractiveness of the ASO concept, speciality retailers seem to be lagging
behind grocery retailers in the implementation of ASO and there is currently very little
